New Metal Gear Solid Collection will have 30 FPS Gameplay

If only if only

Konami unveils resolution and frame rate details for Metal Gear Solid Collection. This caused fans to be upset over the 30fps cap announced. The table below was shared on an official Konami website for the collection earlier today, as you can see, Metal Gear Solid 1 is stuck in 30fps.

New Metal Gear Solid Collection

Well…That sucks! But at least we get to see MGS2 and MGS3 in all its 60 fps glory again. This collection is starting to look more and more like a basic re-release. This could potentially divide the fanbase on the necessity of this collection if it wasn’t for the new official ports.  Konami told outlets that “the collection” would aim for 60fps on all platforms except for the Switch. This statement appears misleading considering the recently published chart.

Konami has set a 1080p/60fps “target” for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 across all platforms except Nintendo Switch. This means devs were aiming for 1080p/60fps on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The collection runs at 720p/30fps in handheld mode and strives(prays!) for 1080p/30fps when docked. It’s important to note that the collection doesn’t achieve 4K resolution on any platform which is…what it is.
