Discover the Ultimate Guide to Finding All Fallout 4 Power Armor Locations

When adventuring through the Commonwealth region of Fallout 4, you will come across several types of missions, items, and unique characters of all sorts, including enemies, that now roam the remnants after the Great War. You’ll also come across items such as weapons and armor to help you traverse safely through the unfamiliar wasteland to help you make it become your new, “home.” Today, we’ll be going over Fallout 4 Power Armor Locations that you can come by while traveling to give you substantial protection!

The T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01, and Raider Armor.

Before we begin, let me first mention the “Spawning Rules.” Which pieces spawn is determined by:

The Sole Survivors, players character, level.

The level of the cell.

T-60 and X-01 power armor spawns are limited to cells which have a high minimum difficulty set. The level of your character also plays a part in their spawning as mentioned before. The list goes as follows:

Levels 1-10: T-45 Power Armor

Levels 10-18: T-51 Power Armor

Levels 18-27: T-60 Power Armor

Levels 28+: X-01 Power Armor

Know that entering a cell that contains a spawning power armor will lock that cell to that level, making it impossible to get a higher-level armor. The best way to go about it is to either reload or hold off venturing to high threat areas until you reach level 28!

Now that’s out of the way, we’ll go over the partial, complete, guaranteed, enemies, and even add-on’s that have Fallout 4 power armor. For some of these listed, some could be full suits, just pieces, or could just be lacking a helmet.

Fallout 4 Partial Power Armor Locations

Abandoned Shack (T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01)

The abandoned shack is in the west part of the Glowing Sea. Enter the

abandoned shack and unlock the Installation K-21B. It’s a metal hatch on the floor. Once inside, you’re now in the Federal Surveillance Center K21-B. You’ll want to head through the door left of the lockers and go down the stairs. There’s a breaker you’ll need to activate which will open the door next to it. Go through and begin to make your way down each floor but be careful as there’s Synth Patrollers roaming the floors that’ll attack. The power armor will be located under the stairs at the lowest level, standing in a power armor station with a mini nuke nearby.

To start, go down the alley next to, “Guns Guns Guns” and take the first right

down a narrow alley that leads to a door where you’ll talk to Bobbi No-Nose. By accepting the favor, you’ll start the mission, “The Big Dig,” and make your way

through the doors with Bobbi.

After freeing and rescuing Mel, then your next objective should be digging up

into the vault and traveling through a sewer, tunnel-like area. Use Sonya, a

modified Eyebot used for tunneling, to blast through a fragile wall next to the

generator containing the fusion core. It’s the wall that doesn’t lead to the

subway area. On the other side of the wall will be a Mirelurk Deep King and near it would be the power armor standing by a large blue pipe.

master locked trailer which can be opened with the Fiddler’s Green trailer key.

Lexington (T-45)

Starting from the fast travel spot, head north until coming upon a railway track. While following the rails, to the southwest, you’ll soon find several overturned train cars. The power armor will be sitting in a master locked cage on a flatbed

near a large blue train car. To get the armor, you’ll have to hack into a nearby

advanced terminal.

Cambridge Outskirts (T-45, T-51)

This military checkpoint is located on the road between Mass Gravel & Sand and Wattz Consumer Electronics in the outskirts of Cambridge. At the center of the crossroads is a coupe. In the southwest is an open IFV, an infantry fighting

This train wreckage is located on the tracks near Tenpines Bluff. There’s a cliff

east of Tenpines Bluff that looks down at the wreckage where the power armor is located inside a locked cage. You will need to hack the terminal on the train to open the cage!

Fallout 4 Complete Power Armor Locations

35 Court (T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01)

You’ll want to start close by Custom House Tower. The building you’re looking for has a big black and yellow sign on the side which says, “35 Court.” Go inside and call the elevator to go up. Once you’re at the balcony area you’ll have to face an Assaultron and a Sentry Bot! After defeating them, press the red button inside

the rooms the Assaultron and the Sentry Bot came out from. Those buttons will unlock the small room that has the power armor. The armor level varies based

on the player’s character level. The highest-level variant possible is the X-01 Mk. III, which starts at level 36.

South Boston Military Checkpoint (T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01)

Travel along the elevated freeway that runs between Graygarden and College

Square until you see a crashed vertibird. Next to it will stand the power armor

and a beautiful view of the Convega Assembly Plant. The spot on the freeway

will be between Graygarden and College Square when looking at your Pip-Boy!

Fallout 4 Guaranteed Power Armor Locations

Atom Cats Garage (T-60 power armor, lacks a helmet)

When you arrive at Atom Cats Garage, you’ll want to head in the back. The

building will be occupied by the Atom Cats, so the Power Armor will be marked as owned, meaning you’ll have to steal it. You can either sneak or attract

monsters to the front and grab it while they’re distracted. Keep in mind you

won’t be able to fast travel until the combat ends though! An alternative you can also do is purchase the armor from Rowdy, but it’ll be expensive. It’s also not

uncommon for a member of the Atom Cats to use it for combat/be inside it

already. You could use, “Stealth Boy,” sneak up behind them, and pickpocket

them. What you’ll want to take from them is the fusion core which will

automatically make the character in it come out of the armor. They won’t be

hostile if you wait to take it when no one’s around, but if you decide to take it

right then and there, they will be.

Glowing Sea (Raider Power Armor)

You’ll want to head to the cave south on your map that’s between vertibird

Wreckage and Skylanes Flight 1665. The cave’s marked entrance is a hole

covered by metal scrap tucked into a hillside. The path is lined with debris and

takes the form of a short crescent-shaped tunnel. Inside is where you’ll find a

power armor frame next to a dead raider.

Mass Bay Medical Center (T-45 power armor, lacks a helmet)

Enter the elevator and head to the eighth floor. Once there, there are two power armor stations and two Gunner Commanders who might try and enter the

power armor if alerted of your characters presences!

Museum of Freedom (T-45 Power Armor)

Head to Concord, then to the Museum of Freedom. When you reach the third

floor, go to the southeast along the balcony and you’ll reach a door that will take you to the rooftop. Once there you’ll see a desk. Go to the right of the desk

towards the crashed vertibird. The armor will be located next to it!

The Prydwen (Main Deck) (T-60 Power Armor)

Before going in and searching for this armor, know that by taking any suit/armor other than the one that’s your characters will count as stealing! Once you

become part of the Brotherhood of Steel, you’ll have your own power armor set located at station Number 3. You’ll want to head inside the power armor repair bay.

A few other ways you can get T-60 power armor is also doing a quest for

Brotherhood of Steel.

o Shadow of Steel.

If you’re up for some looting and stealing though, there are a few complete

power armor suits that you can steal! Three are worn by patrolling sentries,

three are worn by stationary sentries on the flight deck, command deck, and

main deck, and two are in the power armor stations on the main deck. The

sentries will maintain their patrols and posts even after their armor is stolen, but if they’re killed, they will eventually respawn with new sets of armor after time

has passed.

Fallout 4 Enemies wearing power armor. (Pieces)

Revere Beach Station (Raider power armor, might be a full suit or pieces)

A raider will spawn here wearing raider power armor.

Dunwich Borers (Raider power armor, might be a full suit or pieces)

The raider on the far side of the quarry will be wearing raider power armor.

Quarry at Vault 88 (T-51 Power Armor)

At the bottom of the quarry, a raider will spawn wearing T-51 power armor.

There is a chance different levels are available here as well.

Outside Switchboard (Raider Power Armor, no helmet)

The best way to see it is by standing in front of the blue metal sign that says,

“Lexington Welcome to Corvega Town!” There’s a catwalk between two

buildings just outside the switchboard location behind a Slocum’s Joe doughnut billboard. You’ll see a raider on that catwalk, in which he’ll have a weapon.

These next Fallout 4 power armors are a part of the add-ons for the game. Listed below are Nuka World and Far Harbor.

Add-on Nuka World

Morton Residence

In the garage, the power armor is next to the power armor station. It spawns

with zero (bare frame) to six leveled parts.

Safari Adventure (T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01)

Outside Safari Adventure, facing the entrance, turn left or just go northwest, and go under the blank billboard towards the small building nearby. Pass it to the

rusted, blue metal shack near it. The rusty, blue metal shack will be expert

locked with the power armor inside.

Nuka-Cola bottling plant (T-51 Power Armor)

You’ll start off by heading to the Nuka-Cola bottling plant’s World of

Refreshment, passing some run-down exhibits along the Quantum River. It’ll be behind a mesh gate that’s locked. If you head a little further down, you’ll come

across a hole in the wall. Go inside and up the stairs to enter the first door on

the left. Inside will be different machines, one being the terminal for the armor. You can hack it if your level is expert, if not, there’s a letter next to it you’ll need to read. The note says,

“Running up to the roof top for a minute to see check if this is some sort

of military exercise. -Casey”

After reading the note, head to the right of the terminal out the door but be

careful as a few Assaultron’s will come at you! After defeating them, go down

the stairs and walk straight, passing a desk, and enter the first door on the left.

This will take you to the roof but be careful as there will be Nukalurk King’s along the way so keep a look out! Head up the stairs, then right, and up the ramp

nearby that will lead you, with a railed pathway, to an upper level. After that,

head down the ramp to the right and head straight, following along near the

edge of the building until you come across another ramp to take you down. As

soon as you step off the ramp, the building you need to go into is to the

immediate left. Inside will be the password that’s next to a first aid kit. After

grabbing it, head back the way you came, back to the terminal and after

entering the password, go back to the mesh gate where the T-51 power armor is located.

Galactic Zone (Quantum X-01 Power Armor)

The Quantum X-01 power armor can only be found in a display case on the first floor of Starport Nuka, in front of the large mainframe computer that controls

many of the park’s functions. It can be unlocked through the main terminal,

after obtaining all 35 Star cores, during the quest Star control.

Add-on Far Harbor (The Island)

Vim! Pop Factory (T-51 Power Armor)

Enter Vim! Pop Factory. Once inside, you’ll pass a, “You’ve got…Vim! Quartz”

poster and head straight into the room next to it. A T-51 power armor with a

Vim! paint job and a fusion core is found standing next to a power armor station.

National Park visitor’s center (T-51 Power Armor)

This suit and a fusion core can be found directly north on the main east-west

road in a truck, standing by a power armor station. This suit is painted with the lime green Vim! Refresh paint job.

There you have it!

That sums up the Fallout 4 power armor locations you may stumble upon or travel directly to in the game. Hopefully, this guide has helped you advance along the Commonwealth region on your quest to find the armor you’re looking for to help you face what’s out there in the new world. And remember, “War never changes.”
